Political tensions in Bihar appear to be escalating with Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly Tejashwi Yadav repeatedly challenging the ruling coalition over governance and accountability. On Thursday, he launched a sharp attack on the state government alleging administrative failure, lack of direction, and insensitivity toward public issues.

In his fresh salvo targeting Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, Tejashwi claimed that the people of the state have already become disillusioned with the government. “Within just six months of the new government, the people have become disappointed. After 21 years of NDA governance, amid a serious economic crisis, the youth, women, students, farmers, employees, and traders of Bihar have lost hope,” he said.

He further stated that nearly half of the government’s first-year tenure has already been wasted, yet its priorities, policies, and programmes remain unclear.

Commenting on the delay in cabinet expansion, the RJD leader alleged that governance in Bihar is currently being controlled by three leaders — Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary along with Deputy Chief Ministers Vijay Kumar Choudhary and Bijendra Prasad Yadav — with key decisions being taken without proper consultation or democratic processes.

“Today, Bihar is trapped in a vicious cycle of uncontrolled bureaucracy, rampant corruption, collapsed law and order, financial mismanagement, lack of transparency, indiscipline, a corrupt work culture, poverty, migration, unemployment, and mistrust. The people of Bihar no longer have any hope left from this ineffective government,” he added.

On Wednesday, he also criticised Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi and Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary for their remarks regarding the reported killing of a youth from Bihar in Delhi. Tejashwi condemned Manjhi’s response as insensitive and accused Choudhary of being unaware of the incident.

He also criticised the two NDA leaders, saying their attitude reflects a growing disconnect between elected representatives and public concerns.
